I'm in

Absolutely! (Not that I'll skip the exceptions.) This knitalong is just what I need to keep me from adding to the stash, which I last did at Maryland Sheep & Wool despite intentions to add only Koigu. If you've happened across my blog at all, you'll recall that I did a big sell-off earlier this spring, cottons mostly, and only turned around and bought one honkin' hank of sock yarn with the Paypal booty. I've been accumulating stash for about four years now, and confess to ~ dare I say it? ~ six of these plastic containers stacked in my basement. You can't tell from the image, but these are 70-gallon boxes. I blame Elann and eBay and my novice's knowledge of fiber and gauge. Oh, and Knitty and ChicKnits. (Love that Bonne Marie!) Bottom line: I have plenty of yarn to keep me busy for this summer all the way through the next.

Goals: Stick to the stash, knit up some of those potential 23 pairs of socks, get started on gifts

Exceptions: (1) I second the participant who cited a distance requirement for souvenir yarn, and concur that I must be more than 250 miles from home to make such a (small) purchase. A trip to Boston is already planned and another to a farther clime has been mentioned.
(2) This weekend when I visit Holly Spring Homespun for the first time when Wendy is there with her book, I can make a one-project yarn purchase ~ but don't have to!

Rewards: None planned, none deserved. It sounds totally cheesy, but this is a case when success should be its own reward. Now to stick to it ~
